I am Captain Mario, the owner of Barbarossa Sailing and I started my contact with the sea before I was even born!
As a descendant of a sailors' family originating from Skopelos, a small beautiful island of the Sporades complex, my fate was predetermined, I could become nothing but a sailor...
Following the path of my great grandfather who was a fisherman, of my grandfather who was a captain on cargo ships as well as of my father and uncles who worked as engineers on tanker ships, I started my sailing steps at the age of 8 years old by sailing small "optimist" boats at the sailing club of the island.
Since those times I have never left the sea. As I was growing older, I worked for many years as a skipper on sailing boats travelling all over the greek islands feeling proud to present my country to the people visiting us and giving them reasons to rembember their time spent here and return.
When the time arrived in 1999 I progressed to starting my own business and I acquired my first sailing boat.
All these years I never got tired of sailing and giving my guests the best of myself.
In 2014 I moved my business in Santorini, one of the most beautiful and unique islands of the world!
Myself and my crews would be honoured and pleased to have you on board and transmit to you our knowledge and experience of this marvellous place we really love.
The beginning and the end of the tour is Ammoudi bay, the small picturesque red port of Oia.
We will visit the Island of Therassia, the old port of Fira,
Skaros Rock, the Hot Springs and other hidden gems of the caldera that
you can approach only by boat, as we always try to avoid as much as
possible the crowded places that the other boats go to.
We make three stops
for a swim during the daytime tour and two during the sunset tour and to do so we choose to sail a flexible route depending on the weather conditions to avoid unpleasant situations for our guests.
During the tour our crews will serve you fruit, a delicious meal cooked on board and will keep your glasses full with unlimited white wine, beer or soft drinks.
